This is the third in the series that the library carries but this book isn't offered via Amazon Kindle while the first two were. Why? Can't read these other formats on my Kindle. Disappointing.

An odd book. I like odd books. I recommend this book highly. Why I don't know but it reminds me of Henri Michaux and and Franz Kafka.

I loved this book! it was more poetic than either of Rothfuss's novels. Auri is an unforgettable character with and the delight of the narrator in revealing her is easily adopted by the reader. Rothfuss is always a delight to read.

Before deciding to read this novella, I recommend three things: 1.Read at least the first book of the Kingkiller Chronicle prior to picking up this novella to establish the character of Auri. 2.Heed the author’s advice in the author’s…

I read this book after I caught up with the Kingkiller Chronicles and wanted to know more about Auri. Going in I thought it would be a small side piece about the doings of Auri and the workings of the Underthing. Boy, I was wrong. I was…

Read this. Read the forward. Read the author's notes. Read the Library of Fracking Congress boilerplate. Delight in it. Relax into it.

As the author states in the introduction, this is not going to satisfy fans looking for more of Kvothe's story. It is a unique look into the story of one character, Auri, which really leans into language and Rothfuss creates a compelling…

There is almost no plot in this book whatsoever but it still manages to be compelling and fascinating.

Not my cup of tea, what with the nonexistent plot and the madness throughout the "story." It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, which I also did not enjoy. I'll stick to the main series (which I loved) thanks!

Well, the author did warn you it was gunna suck. So the book is weird and un-eventful. Un-eventful may even be an understatement. I might say however, for a story with so much absolute nothing, it had a lot of something. I'm not…

Slow Regard is an odd story and one might understand it better by reading the Name of the Wind first. At the beginning I thought I would not be interested enough to finish reading it, but Auri got in my head. The way she gave personality…

With beautiful literary writing, this is a significantly different sort of book from the Kingkiller Chronicles, although they exist in the same story universe. In fact, I think you could read this without having read the original series at…

While the author recommends reading his books "The Name of the Wind" and "The Wise Man's Fear" before reading this book, I suggest reading about Auri innocent of any previous awareness of who she is. Just be present with an open heart as…

Although Rothless certainly deviates from the previous two books in his Kingkiller Chornicle Series in terms of style and approach, this book is still nonetheless a splendid literary adventure, delving further into the world which he has…

As Rothfuss warns us in the author's intro: this isn't a normal story. There's little plot, nothing much happens. This book is a meditation. A character study. A delving into a deeply imagined world. This is a tone poem and a love letter…

I'm struggling with how to rate this one. Honestly nothing really happens... but we do get some wonderful insight into the daily life of Auri. It's a beautifully written story... that goes nowhere ... but it kind of works that it goes…

Excellent. Did not read the Kingkiller Chronicles beforehand. Did not affect the enjoyment of the read. Excellent.

This slim volume about Auri, an enigmatic figure from Mr. Rothfuss’s Kingkiller Chronicles, is a slow immersion into the chaos of a broken mind. It’s filled with wonderment and joy, as Auri finds beauty in leaves, a thin cup and a gear…

This book is not for everyone. Really. There is only one character, there is no dialog, the biggest scene revolves around making soap. But if you've read The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear, and you love Auri, and you love…

A nice holdover until Doors of Stone is released. I found this novella to be whimsical and light, flowing gently from one location in the Underthing to the next, much as Auri herself. My only complaint is that for those readers who…

I love The Kingkiller Chronicle, but this book just felt...unnecessary. Maybe it's because Auri is basically in a holding pattern, enjoying her weird life in the Underthing, where she names rooms and talks to inanimate objects. Maybe…

It's stated at least 3 separate times that this novel isn't for everyone. I think many of the reviewers would have done well to heed that warning, and get over themselves. The novella is excellent. It's well written, provides a unique…
