I enjoyed all the characters and when I picked this book up each evening I did look forward to "getting to know" Frank. That said, like another reviewer mentioned the storyline is a little underwhelming and the ending left me wanting…

This book brought me laughter and heartbreak and admiration. Alice is incredible, Frank is amazing, Isaac Vargas is warm, witty and wonderful. There, sadly, is the unspoken question of whether Frank should be celebrated or be medicated.

Loved this one - mostly because I fell in love with Frank! He's not the one who tells the story though, that's Alice, who comes into Frank's life when she assigned to assist his mother with her latest book project. Frank's mother just…

Your heart will soar, break, then swell again as you get to know Frank, a "little man" unlike any other child (in years on the earth only) character I have ever encountered. What a pure pleasure.

I loved this book. It's not profound or painful. Rather it is extraordinarily life-affirming and optimistic. It is an easy and extremely entertaining read. I adore this author and can't wait to read her other books. I also love that she…

Our PEPL Book Club just completed, "Be Frank With Me" and our readers gave it anywhere from 3.5 to 5 stars. As a group we enjoyed the book, having discussions about our appreciation that Frank wasn't diagnosed/labelled, a discussion about…

I was excited to read this debut novel that was touted as having elements of Eloise and Where’d You Go, Bernadette, two books I love. When reclusive novelist M. M. (Mimi) Banning needs to come out of her decades-long writing hiatus for…

A reclusive literary legend needs money after falling for a ponzi scheme. Her new book is due, but she hasn’t actually, uhm, written it yet. So her publisher sends her an assistant to make sure the deadline is met.

I love this book! I have a child on the autism spectrum and I literally laughed-out-loud at some of the antics between Alice and Frank.

If Eloise were "on the spectrum". What more could a reader want in a character?! Claiborne Johnson has an excellent sense of humor that she articulates in a wholly satisfying way.

Funny and engaging story of the extremely eccentric 9-year old Frank and his reclusive single mother Mimi, a famous author. Very warm hearted, enjoyable, and a good discussion book.

A charming, if maybe a little underwhelming, read. It has the always entertaining "child genius" trope going for it, which I do genuinely enjoy, though the plot left something to be desired.

I enjoyed this book, especially the character of Frank who is a young boy "on the spectrum". His antics are amusing and the efforts of Alice whose job it is to help with him are admirable. The ending seemed somewhat abrupt and left too…

I loved the characters in this book, especially Frank. All of his quirks made the book really fun to read. The ending wasn't the best and a little disappointing. I didn't know what to expect but it certainly wasn't what happened. Other…

I really, really liked Be Frank With Me. I especially liked (no, LOVED) the totally unique, quirky character of Frank. Sometimes he made me smile, other times he broke my heart. I simply couldn't say enough about how much I loved this…

I just want to jump into this book and give Frank a big hug (even though he would hate that) for being this awesomely unique kid! This was utterly delightful and charming!

This book was so wonderful! A light, comedic, heartwarming read about the son (Frank) of a popular one-time author who is now a recluse in Bel Air. Told from the perspective of the assistant sent to help out said author so that she can…

This is a delightful book- Frank is a charming boy - with the soul of an older person. Misunderstood by his peers, he goes through life looking for fun and delight that can be found everywhere. Well worth the time spent in his world.

What a charming read! Frank is a great kid and a true charmer. This read is for folks who like comedies with a bit of an edge.

What a great book! Absolutely loved little 9 year old Frank. The author did a great job bringing him to life. Having my own son who is a little shy of normal made me like this all the more. Cute, quirky, heartwarming story. Recommend.
