Brilliantly written and a deeply engrossing book about Queen Elizabeth I's sentiments as a 12 year old girl. An enjoyable read!
The tone and mood of this novel holds echoes of the dark, dreary Medieval Ages and it is the perfect read for a rainy day. I don't know how Lasky did it, but there is something different in the undertones of this book that I can't put my finger on. It shows the real side of being English royalty in a time of sexism, questionable medical practices, monarchy, and plots of treason.
I have know idea how many times i have read this book IT'S AMAZING!!!

this book is amazing!!!! Love it!!
This is a wonderful story to read if you are doing a project on Elizabeth I or if you are looking for a good book to read. You may think that being a princess is wonderful but for Elizabeth I it was horrable. Her father(the king)beheaded Elizabeth's mother. Elizabeth also was scared of her older sister.
I think that you will find this book very exciting.
