Just found this film, although it was a 1995 make for Hallmark Hall of Fame.
It was rather cute and comical. One the whole family can see without worry.
Historical value as well. Beautiful scenery from Canadian Rockies.
Sam Elliot before the famous mustache...excellent...

A middling good coming of age movie. I'm not certain why it's gotten poor ratings but I'm guessing it's only been watched by city slicker kids who never did anything but play video games. The poignant strength of this movie, the scenery, the acting, and the story would be lost on anyone who never did any living and probably won't.
