Very disappointing!!! First book was good. This one after the first few chapters I refused to read anymore. For a teen book to have sexting hinted at. Then later using the "F" four letter word was the clincher of never reading a book from this author again. Never finished it. Really sad that teen books have this kind of content in it. (This is the first time I have ever made a comment on a book.)

Of all the books in this series, I have enjoyed this one the most even though I am not a particular fan of paranormal fiction.

Not anywhere as good as George's work usually is, but not horrible.

I am a bit a sucker for this series, partially because I love Whidbey Island so, and partially because the whisper of paranormal weaving gently through the story is rather well done. I find some of the characters rather like cariacatures, and some of the teens to be improbably stubborn about not telling the truth to anyone, even their best friends. There are two more books to go, apparently, but there is an end to each one. I was actually on Whidbey when I finished reading this one. I'm not sure teens will feel well represented by the teen characters, but the storyline spins its spell and the sense of place is quite vivid.
