A proven, safe plan to help newborns sleep at least 7 hours with the first few weeks of life. For many growing families, newborn sleep is the holy grail - much-discussed, highly sought after, and frustrating out of reach. This book is the first and only guide to present a simple, attainable sleep program for newborns shortly after coming home from the hospital. Developed by two veteran pediatricians, the Jassey Way boasts a more than 90 percent success rate for babies one month old or younger, with feedings every four hours during the day, satisfying the baby's nutritional needs on a 24-hour basis - 'eat right, sleep tight.' With clear guidance and real-life stories, The Newborn Sleep Book presents detailed advice for both breast-fed and formula-fed babies, dispelling myths about the frequency of feedings, 'crying it out,' and other essential topics. This book also offers tips for creating an environment that fosters sleep, including swaddling, the use of pacifiers, lighting, and more. Safe, proven, and straightforward, the Jassey Way offers the fastest path to a sound night's sleep - for babies and their parents.

This book is not based in scientific research on what is biologically or developmentally appropriate for newborns. It gives inaccurate and inappropriate advice to new parents. There are many books out there that are backed by current scientific research on infant sleep. This is not one of them.

Do not bother with this book. This book needs to come off the shelves. It is incredibly naïve and biologically negative to attempt to sleep train a newborn. Newborns require not only food, but parents presence (safety) 24/7. If you want to sleep train your newborn, maybe you shouldn't have had a baby. Tired? Suck it up. This book could potentially have a negative affect on a whole generation of children. Not feeding at night will lead to failure to thrive and emotional problems later in life.
