Games are opening back in two weeks. I saw we skip school- sniffle, sniffle- and go twenty-four hours straight. Hit 'em all.

Dashner weaves a complex and intriguing finale to his cyberpunk saga. I was a little surprised overall by this series because the Maze Runner was so much better. I wasn't connected to the characters as well as I was in the Maze Runner (e.g. Newt [insert sob here]), the writing wasn't quite so great, and the plot lost itself in the second instalment. However, it was entertaining and I think it's fair to say that the first book was the best.

Be warned: if you've read anything by James, you know he likes killing characters. DO NOT get overly attached to anyone!

I read this book in a solid sitting, and I have a bit to say about it. First, I think that many areas of it could have been better written. There were too many moments that I think Dashner was rushing through to make the plot seem "fast-paced." I think the intensity could have been better accentuated had he spaced things out better. I was caught off guard on many occasions however, which I guess is harder to do later on in a trilogy. The blend between reality and the virtual "net" was too hard to read. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to people who are TOO visual and get carried away too easily.

The Game of Lives trails Michael’s course to defeat the ones who have endangered humanity. Michael and his friends have now been freed from prison. Their next step is to determine who is trustworthy and will help them to put an end to the chaos in the world. In this dangerous game, Michael must go to extreme lengths to complete his task and risk everything he has ever held dear. Dashner has crafted a world where technology proves its potential to accomplish both the good and the evil. In this world, existence lies in consciousness, whether it be programmed or biological. Moreover, the antagonists are constantly trying to control the world – both real and virtual – and defy natural laws. It is clear that when power lies in the wrong hands, the consequences are disastrous. Leaving the reader with the hope for goodness and order, The Game of Lives is a satisfying conclusion to The Mortality Doctrine series.

Micheal and his friends has to stop Kaine, a tangent created by the VNS. He finds out that a bunch of little people used to work for Kaine but escape from him. They team up and fight against Kaine but Sarah dies.

Better than the first two books in the series (which feel like they only existed to set up this book) but still not one of my favourites. There was more action than the other two books, and the characters were more interesting, but the end still fell a bit flat for me. And the gratuitous Maze Runner reference pulled me completely out of the story - which I'm pretty sure is supposed to be set in a different world.

In this book there is a lot of twists and turns. This book is a great ending to the series but I wish that James Dashner will make a 4th book because I want to know what happens. Something that I liked is how the enemy is now working alongside the main character

Wooooow okkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy that was hard to swallow but TOTALLY AWESOME!!! It did take a little bit of untangling to make sense of everything even though a few things turned out to be predictable to me personally but this was a satisfying ending to the series.... Though I would've extended to epilogue all the way to (mentioned character)
And those two Maze Runner series references had me laughing and left me a tiny reminder that the fever code comes out this Novemebr! Bring it on, James Dashner, I'm ready for some more Newt!

Rogue tangents have created more enemies than ever. Luckily, Michael has some tangents on his side. Kaine's master plan is revealed, and it's hard to decide whether he's an enemy or a friend. In fact, another truth is revealed, and it turns out Kaine isn't the original enemy.
