Exposing perceived fault lines in our banking and financial systems and explaining how unemployment could be cut in half in two years and worldwide prosperity restored, this book argues the existence of exotic energy sources to replace fossil fuels and consequently recommends an immediate end to fracking and offshore drilling for oil. It further urges an immediate worldwide mobilization to replace the energy source in every car, truck, tractor, ship, airplane, and house on Earth in seven years in a desperate effort to save the planet from further overheating. The book blasts government secrecy, and more than 65 years of supposed lies and disinformation, and demands full disclosure of what they know about visitors from other realms and their technology and the extent of their collaboration, including any treaties that may have been signed by them. With more than 65 years of participation in and observation of political and economic systems--beginning with the Great Depression, extending through World War II, the postwar era of hope for a better life, the Cold War, the subjugation of democracy by oligarchy, and the subtle but continuous militarization of America--Paul T. Hellyer analyzes what he believes has gone wrong with the world and its economy and suggests radical measures to introduce a universal culture of peace and cooperation.

A very insightful book written by Canada’s former defense minister. His position is the equivalent of to the United States Secretary of Defense. If former Secretary Donald Rumsfeld or Robert Gates had written a book of this magnitude, there would probably be a world revolution. Mr. Hellyer’s emphasis is mostly on the world’s banking cartel’s and their sinister global operations that keep the separation between rich and poor at an all time high as well as attempt to keep developing countries in debt and slowly erode the middle classes of developed nations. Hellyer also dedicated two chapters on UFO and extraterrestrial disclosure. I am not sure how I feel about the validity of his claims but if there is something out there, the people deserve to know what it is.

Overall, most of the information contained in this book outside of the UFO stuff, I was aware of before reading it. But it was a sigh of fresh air that a man who had a very important high level position was willing to tell it how it really is and expose corruption. I appreciate his input and dedication in attempting to make the world a better place.

Paul Hellyer strikes me as a unique catalog specialist - he is abe to see and classify our societal problems. The solutions are not readily available in this book - but there is plenty to investigate. Hellyer's credibility is a bit undermined by the UFO stuff - very X-files, but he could be on to something there, too.

A must read, knowledge is power.

Mr Hellyer has not met a conspiracy theory that he doesn't like. This book is still worth reading. First, it's a primer on top shelf conspiracy theories. Second, some of the conspiracy theories are more credible than you might think.
Read this book and then read "Confessions of an economic Hitman" and "The Day after Roswell". You may think it's all nonsense, but it's thought provoking stuff and as entertaining as any alternative history novel.

Would strongly urge anyone not given to reading, to at least read pp. 95 -- 97 of this book! Overall a good book by a sincerely-sounding and concerned former politician. Probably read various points before, but contains some highly memorable and intelligent quotes. Might quibble with the author on a few points [don't believe financier-backed President Eisenhower was sold out by Wall Street - - he supported them every way, it was under him that the lawsuit against the Wall Street 17 was quashed, begun under FDR]. Josiah Stamp said it all, but few will ever pay attention.
