The dangerous beauty of Lavender Tides is harboring secrets that reach around the world. Ellie Blackmore is making a name for herself as a house flipper. But when her sister Mackenzie disappears, Ellie can't focus on anything but uncovering what happened. Her only clue is the bloodstain on the deck of Mackenzie's boat. Ellie knows her sister isn't on the best of terms with her ex-husband, Jason, but he wouldn't kill her--would he? Coast Guard intelligence officer Grayson Bradshaw believes Mackenzie faked her own death after stealing a seized cocaine shipment. The problem is convincing Ellie, who seems to view him as the true enemy. Both Ellie and Grayson want truth, but truth--and family--is often more complex than it first appears. From international terrorism to the peaceful lavender fields of Puget Sound, The House at Saltwater Point is a thrilling race to uncover the truth before it's too late"--

The House at Saltwater Point combines suspense and romance for an absolute winner -- and not just because it takes place a couple hours from me, on the Olympic Peninsula.:) Coble did a great job at drawing me in immediately, as well as keeping me guessing throughout the book! I truly didn't see the twists and turns coming.

This is the second book in the series, and it could be read stand-alone but would give away a few points from Book 1. So bear that in mind when you pick one to read.

Coble does a great job at setting up a sense of place. I felt like I was right there with the characters; I could smell the salt air (or was that from my open window?) and see the ferries in my mind's eye.

I often waffle when it comes to re-reading mysteries (will they hold up when I know what happens?), but Saltwater Point could easily be re-read without losing anything. I do hope Coble writes more in the series.

I received a free copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
