#1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery masterfully explores the definition of a modern family--blended by surprise, not by choice--and how those complicated relationships can add unexpected richness to life.

"Heartwarming...this book is sweet and will appeal to readers who enjoy the intricacies of family drama."--Publishers Weekly

Life is meant to be savored, but that's not easy with no family, limited prospects and a past you'd rather not talk about.

Callie Smith doesn't know how to feel when she discovers she has a brother and a sister--Malcolm, who grew up with affection, wealth and privilege, and Keira, a streetwise twelve-year-old. Despite her trepidation, she moves into the grand family home with her siblings and grandfather on the shores of Lake Washington, hoping just maybe this will be the start of a whole new life.

But starting over can be messy. Callie and Keira fit in with each other, but not with their posh new lifestyle, leaving Malcolm feeling like the odd man out in his own home. Becoming a family will take patience, humor, a little bit of wine and a whole lot of love. But love isn't Malcolm's strong suit...until he learns that an open heart, like the family table, can always make room for more.

I loved this book, and would say it was one of my favorite recently-read romance novels. The characters and their stories kept me turning pages, and I sincerely hope the author writes more about this family -- that would be an automatic read!

This was a great book, hard to put down as are many of this author's books but this was a little different, maybe more depth to the main characters as they adjusted to the new family dynamics.

The plot was a refreshing change, and I loved the family drama and close bonds being formed by three siblings. However, the internal angst felt by Delaney , regarding her career choices and her history with Tim, dragged on way too long.

Another great book from Susan Mallery! A story about siblings that never knew each other and the beautiful way they get to know each other. They grow with love and dignity and a few situations that part of life. Loved it!

After the death of his womanizing son, a paternal grandfather learns he has grandchildren he never knew existed. Even though he welcomes them into the family fold, they each carry the emotional baggage of parental neglect.

The story is part fairy tale, (Who wouldn't want a wealthy relative to come to the rescue?) and part romance, (two love stories!). As usual, Susan Mallery's characters captured my heart and kept me reading. They display courage, self-awareness, and warmth, even when they make mistakes or errors in judgment. (Sigh, for men THAT understanding.) If only real people could handle adversity in such a positive way, the world would be a better place.

FYI: The book does contain explicit love scenes.
