An ambitious, over-stuffed movie about teen angst and queer issues. They've trotted out practically every over-worn motif/cliche one could think of regarding LGBTQ issues, and clumsily packed them all into a tale with not a shred of nuance or subtlety. There is absolutely no depth or development whatsoever to any of the characters. Some of the dialogue is an insult to the viewers' intelligence. And as a capper, there is an awful and not unexpected open ending, designed to invoke a thought provoking aura to a movie that fails to provide anything of substance. While intended to promote insight into LGBTQ issues, this film actually pushes the movement more than a few steps backward. A total waste of time - abandon all hope ye who enter here.

A movie probably aimed more for the adolescent.

I really liked the lead actors in this. The story was entertaining, although I think some of what the high school kids get away with doing seems harsh. The one boy in particular seems excessively mean and insecure, but I guess that was the point.
My one minor complaint would be the ending. Not to spoil anything, but something happens and the police are called, and....then what? It isn't clear if anyone is charged with anything, or if everybody is fine with what happens, or what. I would have liked a little bit more closure than what we actually get.
Definitely worth watching, though.
