Silent Bite
Book - 2020
Lawyer Andy Carpenter can finally take a breath; he's back on dry land after a family Caribbean cruise forced on him by his wife, Laurie, to get into the Christmas spirit. Of course the family's first stop is to the Tara Foundation, the dog rescue organization that has always been Andy's true passion. But when Andy arrives, his partner, Willie Miller, needs his help. Willie's old cellmate, Glenn Anson, has been arrested for murder. Andy doesn't necessarily believe in Glenn, but Willie does. And Andy believes in Willie, which is why Andy decides to take the case. Once again David Rosenfelt puts readers in the Christmas spirit in a tale that is equal parts mystery and holiday cheer.

I enjoy the Andy Carpenter series, but not this particular book: It was empty of content. There was little storyline here, very little lawyering orinvestigation involved. It's as if the author ran out of creativity.
I flipped dozens of pages just to get to the end and find out what happened.
If you're new to the series, don't judge it by this one.
Another very good Andy Carpenter mystery.
'Silent Bite' is as comfortable as relaxing with family in slippers and pj's. Yes, the arc of the story is fairly predictable, but then there is always a little clue or red herring that Andy finds (and we miss) that brings him a win.
While Andy still takes his cases seriously, he still doesn't take himself seriously, which is what makes the series charming and fun to read.
As I've said, hinted, requested and now am outright begging (loudly!), please bring back the "Bubalah Brigade"! They are the hot chocolate to the comfortable relaxation that is reading Andy Carpenter!
Another quick, easy read in the Andy Carpenter series.
