Add a CommentIs this simply a set-up for a gaming franchise? It sure isn't anything I would want to see again. Seems to be a Roadrunner/Coyote take-off. And most cartoons are short - how many chase scenes and blow-ups before boredom sets in?
Blu-Ray quality is top-notch. John Washington is superb in this suspenseful and fast-paced brain-teaser. There are so many intricate detailed variables in this film. You must closely monitor (re-watch) every scene, dialog, and recollections of each character for maximum plot comprehension. I liked the sound mixing.
As per the reviews on Netflix...most people can’t figure out this movie. It definitely REQUIRES your concentration. By the time Tenent sees himself in both time frames @ the heist if you haven’t figured it out then it will be incomprehensible. 4 stars only for the poor audio.
It's like watching an action movie that has dementia.
DID YOU LIKE INCEPTI- "THEN YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN THIS!"...
Hard to shout over your own text, but deserved here; a blatant "re-telling" with a mechanics twist and cast that may have done something else (obviously Brannagh and Pattinson have credits).
Bay-esque is the best I can say about it; particularly the driving stunts, if indeed stunt and not CGI work. Nolan needs a new angle and hopefully this breaks all character ties so everyone involved can move on; MAYBE Pattinson took the role to pick Nolan's brain about his upcoming Batman effort, But a laboured story poured into TWO HOURS AND A HALF, with a dual layer break?
INSTEAD, check out THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT (1 or 2, your choice), SOURCE CODE, with Gyllenhaal, DEJA VU, with Washington and Patton, for the central gear works, and for the "Whodunit" angle, go back to THE USUAL SUSPECTS.
Agreed this is impossible to follow almost incoherent. I did wonder why the villain in the story kept taking his pulse rate like an obsession? Perhaps time travel is bad for the heart? or perhaps maybe the result of some medication he was given?
Don't waste your time. The story is impossible to follow unless you wrote the script. Too many twists without logic. Action scenes were just ok. Totally unbelievable story.
I have to say, I didn't get it! It looks great and the idea is pretty cool, but I'm not sure how well they pulled it off! Still, it would have been a fun movie to watch in the theater!
This was a good concept and cast that fell flat. I even asked my dog if she was following this convoluted movie (she yawned). So disappointing.
Run fer yer lives! Save yerselves! Avoid this nonsense at all costs. I defy anyone to follow what is going on in this movie. I have read explanations of the story published on line and even the people trying to explain it fall short of understanding it. The story involves and relies upon "god from the machine" in the form of time travel to solve every dilemma presented. But most of the time one has no idea that what saves the day or what causes the problem has to do with time manipulation. You will have to read an explanation of the story prior to watching the movie to even guess that things occurred because of time manipulation. The future is the past. The past is the future. Now is the past. Now is the future. Now is now. However, all of this depends on certain circumstances which might apply at any given moment with only given circumstances at the time. TIME? What is that? Watching this thing is an utter waste of time.
