This is going to the top of my "most promising but disappointing" movies list. When I first saw the previews, I was really excited about it. Two years later, I've finally seen it and really wish I hadn't. This was just plain awful. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because 1 1/2 isn't allowed. It does have a couple of funny moments, one involving a piece of information that Freeman gives to Nicholson, causing them both to laugh hysterically. The joke wasn't even that funny, but when you watch how they react, it's hard to keep a straight face. That being said, I started watching this movie 6 days ago. After watching only 30 minutes of it, I turned it off and was tempted to mail it back. Then I hesitated about whether or not I wanted to finish it. I caved in and watched the rest; hoping it would get better. It definitely did not. Even though I can't stand Jack Nicholson much at all, this movie would have been SO much better had it been about two old men who make a list of things they want to do before they die, and then do them. I didn't like the fact that so much focus was placed on them having cancer. It made for a very depressing film, both at the beginning and the end. If they were striving for reality, they achieved it at the beginning, but it fell flat at the end. Without giving anything away, I will say that I found the friendship between these two unbelievable. By the very end of the film, Nicholson was using the word "love" in reference to Freeman. However, nowhere in the film do we see these two men hug or even share a really touching moment. And all of this takes place in the course of three weeks. Bucket List has WAY too many holes in the plot and the thing that disappointed me the most was the expectation that this was going to be a great film.

Excellent movie we really enjoyed it. Had many funny parts with some strong emotion at the end of the movie.

No matter you are a billionaire or a middle class folk, there is no difference when approaching end of life. Do you have joy or giving joy to others in life? I like the idea where ashes were stored in can and tomb was make accessible.

Great performances; scene selection/coherence could have used greater care.

As Hollywood movies go, this was better than most. Freeman and Nicholson do a very good job. Too bad the first half of the movie moves at a painfully crawl. I watched it a second time and advance 7 chapters. Suddenly my edits gave me a GREAT FLICK!

While generally not a Jack Nicholson fan I thought this a good story. Interesting to see what events transpired in order for them to cross another one off the Bucket List.

Age hasn't diminished Jack Nicholson's appeal as an actor. He carries this film with every facial expression, no matter how over-the-top they may be. Not a reality film but a pleasant movie experience.

I really enjoyed this movie and thought the chemistry between Nicholson and Freeman was excellent. I am glad that the disparity in their characters’ economic means was not ignored; it lends credibility to the story.
