Very scary, more crime drama than horror though?

To be honest, even though "Them" was apparently based upon a real-life incident that occured back in 2002, I found its story (which was only a mere 77 minutes in length) to be too overwhelmingly bleak and inescapably hopeless to be considered anything close to that of enjoyable entertainment..... Set near Bucharest, Romania, a 30-something couple (Clem and Lucas) are relentlessly terrorized one night at their isolated country home by a group of mysterious, hooded intruders..... I will not spoil this film by revealing to you what became of Clem and Lucas, or who these intruders turned out to be, but I will say that the horrific panic and nerve-racking events that lead to the chilling conclusion of this story were almost too unbearable of an ordeal to have to endure..... *Please note* - This was a French production with English subtitles.

Very creepy film. Even though I was spoiled on some aspects of the plot when I first heard about this movie, I still found the building sense of fear highly effective. Great setting, and it's so short that they really don't waste a moment on anything extraneous (original review July 2011). Edit: in response to Bubba_Louie's review, there is no such incident. It's just that everything is considered scarier if presented as based on real-life events. I thought that falsehood was actually the weakest aspect of the whole thing. "Enjoy" (or shudder through) the chilling atmosphere for its own sake, as a very effectively told story.
