Now this is how you write a monster movie! Even though I like Godzilla more, Kong: Skull Island was a better movie then Godzilla 2014. It had way more monster action, the final fight scene was epic and way more visible, and the connection the human characters had with Kong were beautiful. Plus with the sanity of Colonel Packard's mind slowly deteriorating throughout the movie, and having him become an insane Kong murderer by the end of the movie was fun to watch. Its foreshadowing at its finest. Another form of foreshadowing in this movie is when Marlow was warning about the Big One, a giant Skull Crawler that killed Kong's family. Just waiting for it to arrive on screen after that was exciting, and once it finally came, you would just burst with excitement. The one small nit pick I have for this movie however, is that when Marlow told two of the main characters that what sounding like a bird in the trees was a giant ant. I would have loved to see a giant ant in the flesh in the movie. It could have made a great action scene too, with a huge hoard of them coming out of the ground, and the team had to kill the queen to get the ants away. Genius! Anyway, if you love giant monster action at every turn, turn towards Kong: Skull Island! 4.5/5. @BooksRUs of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Kong Skull Island is a movie about a group scientists who are being protected by military personnel lead under the command of Preston Packard, and their tracker, James Conrad. The group is on a journey to an uncharted island in the Pacific but, unluckily for them this will not be an easy journey. After arriving onto the island, the group realizes they are not alone as they are “greeted” by Kong who manages to destroy a few of the group’s helicopters. The group is split up and now they must rendezvous with each other, all while staying alive, which will not be a simple task as Kong is not the only danger on the island. Kong Skull Island was a good movie and I enjoyed watching it. The movie had comedic moments, good fight scenes, some swearing here and there, and a lot of blood. I would rate this film 4/5. - @Grimvar of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
