A tale of star crossed lovers, West Side Story zombie style without all the dancing and singing. This book is filled with black humor, definitely tongue in cheek or is that tongue through cheek? “…death has relaxed me…”, R shares the upside of zombie life. He is unaware or has forgotten his human past. Throughout this book, we follow R through his search to find his former human identity or is it his? The living smell differently and are easy to track, good to know. However, our hero thinks fast in order to camouflage his lady fair from becoming the next tasty morsel. There are deeper themes throughout this book which are well worth discovering. This isn’t just a topical zombie romp. There’s more to sink your teeth into. Kevin Kennerly, the reader, deftly leads the listener through vocalizations of various zombie and human characters differentiating moans of friend and foe. He keeps the action moving, aptly painting in your minds eye the characters and setting with his vocal skills. This novel has an amusing bent for the novice zombie enthusiast taking us through the author’s version of undead lore. It’s whimsical, humorous, and grisly all at the same time with a little romance thrown in for good measure. Who wouldn’t look for that kind of fun?
